The US and Japan will create a missile against hypersonic weapons

The US and Japan will team up to develop a new $3 billion missile defense system designed to intercept hypersonic weapons by 2030.
For pmessage of the Japanese agency Kyodo, the United States and Japan will work together to create a new anti-missile defense system. This cooperation is a testament to the strong defense partnership between the two countries.
The new system, which is estimated to cost $3 billion, will be equipped with an interceptor missile capable of hitting hypersonic weapons during the flight planning phase. Japan will contribute 1 billion dollars to the total financing of the project.
The new weapon is expected to be deployed on US Navy warships and Japanese Navy destroyers by 2030. This is not the first joint development of the US and Japan in the field of anti-missile defense – the countries have previously collaborated on the creation of the SM-3 Block2A to intercept ballistic missiles.
