The US is ‘carefully studying’ Zelenskyy’s victory plan and promises ‘additional actions’ if necessary
The administration of the US president is carefully analyzing the plan for the victory of Ukraine presented by Volodymyr Zelenskyi. This was announced by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a press conference in New York. transmits “Voice of America” Ukrainian service.
Blinken emphasized that US President Joe Biden clearly stated his commitment to supporting Ukraine. He also noted that the funds allocated for military aid will last until the end of Biden’s current term.
Answering a question about the possibility of Ukraine striking Russian territory with Western weapons, Blinken noted that Washington is ready to consider “additional actions” if this is necessary for the success of Ukrainian forces.
“We are studying this very carefully, including what we or other Ukrainian partners should do, if necessary, in additional steps to help them achieve this success.”, – said Blinken.
President Zelenskyi said that Ukraine intends to develop a plan to end the war, simultaneously strengthening its military capabilities. According to him, continued pressure on Russia may force it to agree to a diplomatic settlement.
In the future, Zelensky began to specify this “victory plan”, which provides for the maintenance of Ukrainian positions and control over Russian territories. He believes that this document will pave the way to a reliable peace, in particular through the implementation of the “peace formula”.
Zelenskyi emphasized that the plan will be presented to international partners and will include five key points related to military and economic support to Ukraine.
“This plan is about Ukraine, about our soldiers. There are not many points, and in my opinion, this is good. Each point will depend on Biden’s decision.”, — said Zelensky in a conversation with American journalist Farid Zakaria.
