The US representative will not come to Ramstein for the first time

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will not take part in the Ramstein-style meeting scheduled for April 11 in Brussels under the chairmanship of Germany and Great Britain. This will be the first meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in which the United States will not participate. informs edition of Defense News.

In addition, the Pentagon is not currently expected to delegate other senior officials or representatives who normally accompany the defense secretary to the meeting. The USA is currently reviewing the format of its participation in international forums that support Ukraine, in particular in the aspect of providing military aid.
The next meeting of the Contact Group will be held on April 11 at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, co-chaired by Britain and Germany. At the same time, it was the USA that created the Rammstein format in 2022 and coordinated its work from the beginning.
We will remind that after the change of administration in Washington, Great Britain took the lead in these meetings. The previous meeting, held on February 12 at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, was chaired by Great Britain for the first time. At that time, the USA was represented by the newly appointed Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth, who, in particular, stated that the return of Ukraine to the borders of 1991 is “unrealistic”.
