The US State Department reacted to information about Chinese soldiers captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The USA is aware that Ukraine captured two Chinese soldiers. China is one of the main helpers of Russia, stated at the briefing, the speaker of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce.
“You know, it’s worrisome. It’s worrisome that North Korea is involved. It’s worrisome that Chinese soldiers have been captured. We’re aware of reports that Ukraine has captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting on Russia’s side in Ukraine. China is Russia’s main backer in this war.”, – noted Bruce.
She emphasized that China supplies Russia with almost 80 percent of dual-purpose goods that the aggressor country uses to wage war. Bruce also recalled US President Donald Trump’s statement that cooperation between China and Russia “will only contribute to global instability and make the United States and other countries less safe, less secure and less prosperous.”
We will remind you that on April 8, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that during the hostilities in the Donetsk region, the Ukrainian military captured Chinese citizens. According to him, there are documents that confirm this fact, and a video with new prisoners has also been made public.
Zelensky noted that the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces engaged in battle with six Chinese citizens, but captured only two. Chinese officials have not yet commented on the reports. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the temporary chargé d’affaires of China to explain how Chinese citizens ended up in the war against Ukraine.
