Poland raised fighter jets due to massive missile attack on Ukraine

On December 13, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, prompting Poland to raise its military aircraft into the sky. In accordance with message of the operational command of Poland, the reaction was caused by missile strikes, in particular, in the west of Ukraine.

“Attention, in connection with another attack by the Russian Federation with strikes by cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on objects located, in particular, in the west of Ukraine, the operation of military aviation in our airspace has begun.” – the statement says.

According to the protocols, the Operational Command deployed all available resources, including pairs of fighter jets on duty, and put air defense and radar surveillance assets on the highest alert.

“The measures taken are aimed at ensuring security in the territories bordering the threatened areas. The operational command is monitoring the current situation, and the subordinate forces and means are in full readiness for an immediate response.”, – emphasize the Polish military.
