The USA and Great Britain could allow Ukraine to strike Storm Shadow on the Russian Federation without official statements: The Guardian

The US and Great Britain have probably already decided to allow Ukraine to use their weapons for strikes on Russian territory, but have so far refrained from officially announcing this step.

As informs The Guardian, citing British officials, said the deployment of Storm Shadow missiles is part of a broader strategic plan aimed at trying to end a full-scale war.

The publication also notes that during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, US President Joe Biden expressed the opinion that Ukraine’s use of Western-made missiles for strikes on Russian territory is not tantamount to involving NATO in a conflict with Moscow. Kir Starmer emphasized that threats from Russia should not stop Ukraine from its right to self-defense.

Regarding strikes by Western weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation, it was previously reported that Joe Biden may allow Ukraine to use British and French Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles for such attacks, but the American long-range ATACMS missiles will not be provided yet.

George Barros, an expert from the Institute for the Study of War, emphasizes that there are many important objects on the territory of Russia that can become targets for the Armed Forces. In particular, Storm Shadow missiles are capable of penetrating fortified bunkers and destroying fuel depots, repair bases, command posts and other logistics centers, which could significantly weaken Russia’s military capabilities.
