The Czech Republic announced the continuation of assistance to Ukraine in the military, humanitarian and political spheres

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavsky, while visiting Kyiv, stated about unwavering support for Ukraine and confirmed plans to transfer 500,000 artillery shells by the end of the year.
“The Czech Republic will continue to provide you with unwavering support in all forms: military, financial, humanitarian, political and diplomatic. Today we discussed further ways of providing assistance. As you know, my country has taken the initiative to supply ammunition“, Lipavsky noted during a joint press conference with his Ukrainian colleague Andrii Sybiga.
The Czech minister emphasized that by the end of the year, the Czech Republic will ensure the transfer of 500,000 large-caliber projectiles to Ukraine within the framework of the initiative.
“And we will not stop there. We will expand this initiative and provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the necessary support.”, – added Lipavskyi.
In addition, the official confirmed that the Czech Republic will continue to support the Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, promote the development of civil society and independent media.
The President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel previously stated at the Munich Security Conference that the Czech Republic is actively looking for additional sources of arms for Ukraine around the world. He said that if funding is received, it is possible to supply 500,000 155 mm shells and 300,000 122 mm shells from third countries in the coming weeks.
Part of the financing for the purchase of ammunition is planned to be obtained at the expense of Russian assets frozen in the EU. The Czech government is also working on a new initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine for 2025. This time the main suppliers will be Czech manufacturers.
Earlier, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala announced the successful transfer of the first batch of artillery shells as part of the aid program to Ukraine.
