The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on sending units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other states

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law “On Amendments to Certain Laws Regarding Certain Issues of Sending Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Other States During the Period of Martial Law”. About this informs People’s Deputy from the Yaroslav Zhelezniak faction.
Legislative initiative No. 12378 was supported by 317 people’s deputies. According to the explanatory note, the purpose of this document is to settle issues related to the deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other states during martial law.
The adopted law amends the laws “On the Armed Forces of Ukraine” and “On the procedure for sending units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to other states”. They provide that units of the Armed Forces may be abroad during a state of war to ensure security, defense and counter-aggression in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The President of Ukraine will make the decision to send units of the Armed Forces to other countries, while simultaneously submitting to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on the approval of such a decision. This procedure does not apply to cases of the use of armed forces on the territory of the aggressor state to repel aggression.
Together with the draft law, the President must provide information on the tasks, the number of units, types and composition of weapons, military equipment, terms of stay, the procedure for replacing personnel, the maintenance of units and the possibility of extending their stay abroad.
