The Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law on ratification of the agreement with the United States on subsoil
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a draft law on the ratification of the agreement with the United States of America on access to natural resources, signed on May 1. The draft law has registration number 0309. About it reported permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the parliament Taras Melnychuk.
“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as the subject of a legislative initiative, registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Draft Law “On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America on the Creation of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund””. – says the message.
We will remind that on May 1, Ukraine and the USA concluded an agreement, which provides for the access of the American side to Ukrainian natural resources. The document was signed by the First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko from Ukraine and Finance Minister Scott Bessent from the USA.
The agreement provides for the creation of the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which will attract international capital for the development of the state. The management of the fund will be carried out jointly by Kyiv and Washington, without giving any of the parties a decisive vote, which should prove the equality of the parties.
At the same time, the White House announced that the US had the right to make decisions about who would be able to buy Ukrainian resources. This right will apply to the issuance of new licenses for their extraction.
