“The war is coming to an end”: Hungary made a statement about peace in Ukraine

The representative of Hungary expressed his respect for the brave Ukrainians, but at the same time did not hold back from accusing the West.

Minister of Defense of Hungary Kristof Shalay-Bobrovnytskyi declared his great respect for the “heroic and brave struggle of Ukrainians” during a speech at the festival in the city of Esztergom. As reported Telex, he spoke about Ukraine’s efforts to establish peace and emphasized that the end of the war is near.

“As a soldier, I have great respect for the heroic and brave struggle of Ukrainians, but the efforts to negotiate peace show that the war is getting closer to the end”, – said Shalai-Bobrovnytskyi.

However, the minister did not refrain from criticizing the West. He accused Western partners of “intensifying” the war instead of containing it, saying it had helped Russia build up its military industry, thus providing the necessary levels of ammunition, manpower and equipment.

Shalai-Bobrovnytskyi also expressed the opinion that Ukraine is now only exhausting its resources and needs financial support from the West.

Statements of Hungary regarding Ukraine

Recently, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that his country would block a 6.5 billion euro European Peace Fund military aid program to Ukraine until Ukraine resumes supplies of Russian oil to Hungary.

Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced a new format of cooperation within NATO. Budapest decided not to support Ukraine, but at the same time not to block the Alliance’s decision regarding it.

We will remind you that the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, repeatedly blocked the allocation of aid to Ukraine, claiming that these funds should go to Hungary.
