For the first time since the beginning of the war, Putin offered direct negotiations with Ukraine

“We have a positive attitude towards any peace initiatives. We hope that representatives of the Kyiv regime will feel the same way”, – noted the head of the Russian Federation.

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmytro Peskov explained Putin’s words as follows:

“When Putin said that it is possible to discuss the issue of not striking civilian objects, in particular on a bilateral basis, he meant negotiations and discussions with the Ukrainian side.”

He emphasized that allegedly Russia is still open to finding ways of a peaceful settlement. At the same time, Peskov mentioned the ongoing contacts with the American side and expressed hope that this interaction “will bring results.”
