The World Bank decided to allocate an additional $664 million to Ukraine

The World Bank decided on additional financing for Ukraine within the framework of the INSPIRE project in the amount of $664 million. These funds will be used to provide 29 types of social benefits for the most vulnerable categories of the population. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

“Today, the World Bank approved additional financing in the amount of $664 million for the INSPIRE project, which will continue to support 29 types of social payments to the most vulnerable sections of the population of Ukraine. $662 million will come from the Trust Fund for providing necessary credit support to Ukraine ADVANCE Ukraine, which is supported by the Government of Japan. I am grateful to the Japanese government and the leadership of the World Bank for their constant support, cooperation and solidarity with Ukrainians!”, – the message says.

The INSPIRE project, supported by the World Bank, aims to provide financial assistance to those citizens of Ukraine who suffered the most from the consequences of the war. Additional funding will cover needs in social benefits, including pensions, assistance to large families, social support for persons with disabilities, and payments to internally displaced persons.

This funding is an important element of international support that helps Ukraine maintain the functioning of critical social institutions during the war. Thanks to cooperation with the World Bank, the Ukrainian authorities can guarantee social stability and targeted support to citizens who are in a difficult situation.
