There are 1,316 people over the age of 100 in Ukraine: Pension Fund

There are 108,603 people living in Ukraine who have celebrated their 90th anniversary, of which 1,316 people have crossed the century mark. Such data made public Pension Fund of Ukraine.
In particular, among centenarians, the vast majority are women – 1,150 people, while there are only 166 men over 100 years old. The Pension Fund also noted that the oldest person in Ukraine, Mrs. Kateryna, lives in the Manevytskyi community of the Volyn region. She recently turned 108 years old.
October 1 marked the International Day of Older Persons, which was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly. According to the classification of the World Health Organization, the elderly are people aged 60 to 75 years. Those who have reached the age of 90 officially belong to the category of long-lived.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine also reported that in September it completed social payments aimed at supporting the population, for a total amount of 67.1 billion hryvnias.
