Three former Ukrainian defense ministers suspected of treason

Three former defense ministers of Ukraine, who held positions in 2010-2014, were charged with treason for selling weapons and military equipment. About this reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General.
In accordance with information edition of LIGA.net, it is about Mykhailo Yezhel, Dmytro Salamatin and Pavel Lebedev.
According to the investigation, during the period from March 2010 to February 2014, these officials made decisions on the alienation of combat-ready weapons and equipment, the volume of which was already smaller than the Armed Forces of Ukraine needed. It is about the unjustified sale of a large amount of armored vehicles, artillery systems, anti-aircraft missile systems, tracked and wheeled vehicles, combat aircraft and helicopters, as well as small arms, ammunition and thousands of rockets.
These actions significantly weakened the state’s defense capabilities, and the lack of sold weapons had a critical impact on the readiness of the Ukrainian defense forces at the beginning of Russia’s military aggression in February 2014 and remains relevant to this day.
As the Office of the Prosecutor General emphasizes, due to the adopted decisions, damage was caused to the sovereignty, territorial integrity, defense capability and state security of Ukraine, and in fact aid was provided to the Russian Federation in its subversive activities against our state. The investigation in this case is conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigation.
