The government has introduced a simplified mechanism for the purchase of drones and electronic warfare equipment
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a resolution that makes the procurement of domestic unmanned systems and means of electronic warfare (EW) a permanent process. About this reported Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
According to him, from now on, commanders of military units will be able to purchase tactical drones and EW without delays associated with bureaucratic coordination with the General Staff or other military management bodies.
The minister also emphasized that access to framework agreements has been expanded. Military units will be able to join the contracts concluded by the procurement agencies of the Ministry of Defense and State Special Communications. This will allow you to get the necessary equipment faster and at competitive prices.
“This decision means stability, systematicity and predictability for all participants in the process,” Umerov emphasized.
He added that the new system will not only contribute to the prompt delivery of technologies to the front, but will also support Ukrainian manufacturers, giving them the opportunity to develop and improve their products. The minister assured that such changes will allow the military to plan their needs more effectively, and manufacturers to focus on technological innovations and increase the scale of production.
