Trump administration plans to convene conference on Ukraine in the near future

The US administration under the leadership of Donald Trump plans to initiate a special conference dedicated to the war in Ukraine in the near future. About this informs The Telegraph.

“Exactly when will depend on the willingness of Putin and President Zelensky to hold such talks, as well as on the agreement on the chair, agenda and venue. It may also depend on Russia, especially whether it commits outrageous acts that could such negotiations are impossible in the light of international opinion. The recent downing of the Azerbaijani airliner is precisely the act that confirms that Russia is an unprincipled rogue state.”– it is stated in the notification.

The likelihood of holding the conference will also be determined by Russia’s actions, especially its possible provocations, which may make negotiations impossible due to a negative international reaction. As an example, journalists mention the recent shelling of an Azerbaijani airliner over the territory of Russia.

The US is expected to play a leading role in these talks, regardless of whether the conference is formally proposed by Trump. A possible moderator could be Marco Rubio, who is being considered for the position of secretary of state, although the candidacy of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is also being considered.

It will be recalled that Zelensky previously stated that he believed Trump was able to help Ukraine stop Putin and become a key factor in ending the war.
