Trump administration plans to withdraw $20 billion from Biden’s climate projects

US President Donald Trump’s administration plans to cut funding for $20 billion in climate change and clean energy projects introduced by the administration of former President Joe Biden. About this informs EuroNews.
These funds were planned for initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in particular for the installation of heat pumps in households, the development of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles and the creation of cooling points for the population.
US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin said he intends to return to Americans their hard-earned tax dollars that were allocated to environmental NGOs and other institutions under the program.
“The days of irresponsibly handing out money to left-wing activist groups in the name of environmental justice and climate equality are over,” Lee Zeldin stressed.
These funds were part of the so-called “green bank” – the Fund for the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, created within the scope of the Biden Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The legislation is seen as an important step in the fight against climate change, as the US remains the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases.
Zeldin explained that under his leadership, the EPA will have “zero tolerance for any waste or abuse.”
