US President-elect Donald Trump announced preparations for a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, without specifying the exact date of the talks. About this informs Reuters.
At his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, during a speech to Republican governors, Trump noted that Putin expressed a desire to hold a meeting, and work is now underway to organize it.
“He wants to meet and we are preparing it” – emphasized Trump.
At the same time, the US president avoided specifying the specific date of the negotiations, but confirmed that the topic of the meeting is being actively discussed.
“President Putin wants to meet. He even stated this publicly, and we must put an end to this war.”, – Trump added, referring to the war in Ukraine
At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmytro Peskov, previously noted that Moscow will positively accept Trump’s initiative for negotiations after his inauguration on January 20.
