Trump criticizes Putin for continuing strikes on Ukraine

US President Donald Trump expressed criticism of Vladimir Putin due to the continuation of strikes on Ukraine, despite the fact that negotiations between the countries to end the conflict are ongoing.

“I’m not happy with what Putin is doing. He’s killing a lot of people, and I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin. I’ve known him for a long time. I’ve always gotten along with him, but he’s launching missiles at cities and killing people, and I don’t like it at all.” Trump emphasized.

He emphasized that he does not understand the motives of the Russian leader’s current actions and characterized them as unacceptable. The US president also suggested the possibility of using economic pressure, including new tariffs, as a means to promote a peaceful settlement.

“We are talking, and he is firing missiles at Kyiv and other cities.” he said.

Responding to questions about negotiations with Putin, Trump said that he would “definitely” consider the option of introducing tariffs against Russia in order to achieve progress in the peace process.

It will be recalled that on May 19, during a telephone conversation with European leaders, Trump stated that, in his opinion, Vladimir Putin is currently not determined to end the war in Ukraine, as he considers himself the winner.
