Trump said that the annexation of Greenland will take place 100% and does not rule out a force scenario

US President Donald Trump said that the United States will definitely annex Greenland, and this issue, according to him, is “100% decided”. In an interview with NBC News, Trump confirmed, that discussions regarding the island’s accession to the United States are absolutely real and are already underway.

“We will get Greenland. Yes, 100%. The annexation will most likely happen without the use of military force, but I am not taking anything off the table.” – Trump said.

He emphasized that he saw no point in thinking about what kind of signal this might send to Russia or other countries.

“I don’t care. Greenland is a separate topic. It’s about international power and security.” – emphasized the US president.

He also mentioned the activity of warships near the island by Russia, China and other countries, assuring that the United States will not allow events to develop in a way that could threaten American interests or the global order.

It will be recalled that earlier Trump already stated that the USA “must own” Greenland. After his remarks, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen called on Washington to change the tone of the discussion around the island and seek joint solutions for security in the Arctic. Vice President JD Vance publicly supported Trump’s intentions, saying the administration was “ignoring European outrage.”

Greenland is a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark, which has repeatedly made it clear that the issue of its transfer to another state is not on the agenda.
