Trump says US will send more weapons to Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said that the United States will transfer additional weapons to Ukraine to defend against Russian attacks. About this informs Reuters.
Trump emphasized that Ukraine is under a “very strong attack” from Russia and must be able to defend itself. He clarified that the US will provide mostly defensive weapons.
“We’re going to send some more weapons. We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves. They’re under very heavy fire right now. They’re being hit very hard. We have to send more weapons, primarily defensive weapons.” – said Trump.
Earlier, he said that during a conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyi, he discussed the possibility of transferring Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Kyiv.
It will be recalled that on July 5, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that US President Donald Trump is “ready to help” Ukraine with air defense systems. On July 4, Trump and Zelensky had a telephone conversation. It took place against the background of Trump’s dissatisfaction with Putin’s policy and the suspension of arms supplies to Ukraine by the United States.
On July 2, it became known that the United States temporarily stopped the transfer of weapons to Ukraine, in particular missiles and ammunition for air defense systems. The reason was cited as a reduction in stocks in warehouses in the USA. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that they had not received any official notices about stopping or revising the schedules of deliveries of the agreed defense aid. They noted that they are guided by “actual data” and are checking the circumstances.
