The temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada on matters of fortifications and drones is investigating the possible waste of budget funds during the construction of fortifications and the purchase of drones. According to preliminary data, about 30 criminal proceedings have been opened, and the total amount of funds involved in the cases reaches UAH 20 billion.

“WITHso far, about 30 criminal proceedings have been opened for the embezzlement of funds during the construction of fortifications. Members of the commission from “Servants of the People”, upon hearing such figures, immediately tried to defend the managers of the funds. And the lion’s share is military-civilian administrations – this is the vertical of the president. For the next time, we should receive for each proceeding – for which article, who appears there and what amounts“, Mykhailo Bondar noted.
Deputies found out how much money was allocated and used for the construction of fortifications and the purchase of drones.
Particular attention was paid to the role of the State Special Communications, which disposes of UAH 63 billion for the purchase of drones. According to the secretary of TSK Mykhailo Bondary, the department has broad powers regarding the choice of suppliers, which can lead to abuses.
The Ministry of Defense and regional military administrations must provide TSK with detailed information on the utilization of budget funds for fortifications, their construction schedule and location. After that, the deputies plan to conduct an audit of the fortifications.
The next meeting of the TSC is scheduled for next week. It is expected that the law enforcement officers will provide more detailed information about the criminal proceedings.
