Tsyvinsky stated that the Cabinet’s refusal to appoint him as director of BEB does not comply with the law
Oleksandr Tsyvinskyi is a candidate for the post of head of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB). statedthat the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers not to appoint him to this position is such that it does not correspond to the current legislation.
According to him, the reason for the refusal was the materials provided by the Security Service of Ukraine. Tsyvinskyi emphasized that as a citizen and a law enforcement officer who has successfully passed SBU checks for ten years and has access to state secrets, he considers it essential to find out the content of these “security assessments”.
“The decision of the CMU does not comply with the law. I am waiting for the publication of an official decision or confirmation of the published information by officials.” Tsyvinsky noted.
He added that he has already applied to the Cabinet of Ministers, the Competition Commission and the Security Service of Ukraine with a request to provide full information, in particular regarding the security check. After receiving official clarifications, he intends to inform the public in detail. Tsyvinskyi also emphasized that his intention to reform BEB and turn it into an independent and virtuous body has only strengthened.
He thanked everyone for their support and announced plans to publicize examples of his professional activities that have already been covered by the media. Separately, Tsyvinsky commented on the information about his father, about whom the media previously wrote that he may be a citizen of the Russian Federation.
“My father, even if he is a citizen of the Russian Federation at the moment, which is not confirmed, has been living in Ukraine for the last 30 years. I have not communicated with him at all for 10 years, I was raised by my stepfather, so the security concerns, especially after I served in the ATO in 2014 and a year from the start of the full-scale operation in 2022, are ridiculous”, — Tsyvinskyi explained.
