Two Ukrainian women were included in the BBC’s “100 Most Influential Women in the World” rating

British broadcasting company BBC made public its annual ranking of the 100 most influential women in the world in 2024. Two Ukrainian women were on the list – Olga Rudneva, director of the Lviv Superhumans Center, and farmer Olga Olefirenka.
“After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Olga Rudneva felt that she had to do something to help those wounded during the war. Many people considered people who lost limbs on the battlefield victims, but for Rudneva, they were “superhumans” who deserved all the help , which she could provide,” – says the publication.
Headed by Rudneva, the Superhumans Center deals with limb prosthetics and provides rehabilitation services. Over 1,000 people have received help in the center over two years.
Another member of the list, Olga Olefirenko, lost her father, a Ukrainian serviceman, who died in 2015 during hostilities in the Donetsk region. To honor his memory, she decided to fulfill his dream and created a farm. Due to financial difficulties, the woman had to temporarily close down her activities, but in 2023 she received a grant from the Ukrainian Veterans Fund, drawing up a successful business plan.
“Olefirenka started managing her farm again, paying particular attention to modernization, the use of new agricultural technologies and the creation of jobs for the local community, which considers her a source of inspiration thanks to her initiative and leadership qualities.” – reports the BBC.
