Ukraine amends rules for conducting state land inventory

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed Law No. 3993-IX ‘On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Protection of the Interests of Land Share Owners and Introduction of Administrative Procedure in the Field of Land Relations’. This law significantly simplifies the process of conducting a state land inventory and approving the necessary land management documentation.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported that the new law streamlines the procedure for approval of land management documentation related to land inventory. According to the amendments to Article 186 of the Land Code, permanent land users (state-owned enterprises, institutions and organisations) must provide a conclusion on the approval of technical land management documentation for land inventory or a justified refusal to approve it within 10 business days. If this is not done, the documentation is considered automatically approved.
The state land inventory conducted by the StateGeoCadastre is aimed at filling the State Land Cadastre with information on state-owned land, including land of the nature reserve fund, water fund, transport, defence, agricultural purposes, etc.
‘In general, theland inventory is an important tool for creating a comprehensive database of all land plots within the territories of administrative units and territorial communities. This will facilitate management decision-making by executive authorities and local governments,’ the ministry said.
