The memorandum lays the foundation for deepening cooperation between the countries in various areas of the energy sector, in particular in the field of renewable energy, bioenergy, clean technologies, energy efficiency, demand management, flexible energy systems and energy storage technologies. Cooperation will also cover atomic energy and nuclear safety, hydrogen technologies and the production of other types of energy from renewable sources, as well as research and development in the field of energy.

It is envisaged that interaction will develop through investment promotion, joint research, exchange of experts, technologies and information, as well as through support of business initiatives and cooperation between innovative structures, scientific institutions, industry associations and companies of both countries.

During the meeting, Herman Galushchenko thanked the Finnish side for the support given to Ukrainian energy since the beginning of full-scale aggression by Russia. He noted that since March 2022, more than 60 shipments of humanitarian aid with a total weight of more than 600 tons have arrived from Finland.
