Ukraine and Germany discussed the joint production of air defense systems and armored vehicles

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration Serhiy Boev held a meeting with the State Secretary of the German Ministry of Defense Niels Hilmer, during which they discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of production of air defense systems and armored vehicles. The negotiations took place on the sidelines of the 16th International Security Forum held in the Canadian city of Halifax. This forum is one of the most important global platforms for discussing security and defense issues.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on future plans for cooperation in 2025 and discussed the possibilities of supplying various types of weapons. Serhiy Boev noted that among the key issues was the deeper participation of Germany in the supply of heavy armored vehicles for Ukraine.

Boev also offered the German side to consider the possibility of expanding cooperation between the defense enterprises of both countries. Special attention was paid to the prospects of joint production of air defense systems and armored vehicles.

Earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed the transfer to Ukraine of a batch of 4,000 drones equipped with artificial intelligence, which are highly effective in hitting targets at a considerable distance. The German government also reported on another batch of military aid given to Ukraine, which included additional weapons and equipment to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
