Ukraine and the Czech Republic signed an agreement on the construction of a cartridge factory and the production of assault rifles
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal talked about strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the defense sphere.

At a joint meeting of the governments of Ukraine and the Czech Republic in Prague on July 16, two agreements on the joint production of weapons were signed. About this reported Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a press conference.
Shmyhal noted that during the meeting with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, they discussed the supply of new types of weapons for the Ukrainian army, the training and rehabilitation of the Ukrainian military, as well as new joint projects in the field of the military-industrial complex (MIC).
“Today we signed two important agreements in the field of the defense industry. A new cartridge plant will be built in Ukraine – the agreement was signed between Sellier & Bellot and “Ukroboronservice”Shmyhal announced.
The second agreement concerns the production of assault rifles by Colt CZ Group in Ukraine.
“This is an agreement between Česká zbrojovka and the relevant Ukrainian enterprise, which I will not name for security reasons”Shmyhal added.
According to him, the signing of such agreements “demonstrates a high level of interest in cooperation with our defense industry.”
Earlier, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, spoke about the details of the “munitions initiative”: in July-August, 50,000 more ammunition should arrive in Ukraine, and from September to the end of the year, 80,000 to 100,000 will arrive every month.
