Ukraine and the UAE signed an agreement on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership

On February 17, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed an agreement on Comprehensive Economic Partnership. About this reported President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“Today, an important economic agreement was signed between our states. The document will maximally liberalize access to the UAE market for almost all Ukrainian goods. It will be easier for our companies to sell their products in the UAE.”, – said the head of state.
In her turn, First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko clarified that this agreement is not a traditional agreement on free trade. The document became the first in history among the signed agreements of Ukraine with the countries of the Persian Gulf.
“The agreement is comprehensive and covers goods, services, investment, digital trade and much more. Short-term analysis shows that this agreement will help maintain a positive trade balance in goods trade. In the medium to long term, a change in the GDP growth trajectory of 0.1% is expected.”, – explained Svyridenko.
In her opinion, the greatest growth is expected in such industries as transport, metallurgy, food industry, in particular in the flour milling sector and oil production. One of the predicted consequences of the agreement is an increase in the export of metals and vegetable oils.
