In the first 7 months, 228,000 cars were imported into Ukraine: how many of them were used
Kyiv became the leader in the number of registered cars of imported production.
In the first seven months of 2024, more than 228,000 cars were imported into Ukraine, which is 14.2% more than in the same period last year. According to data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 71% of the total number of imported cars are used cars, the average age of which is 9 years, and 42% of them are 10 or more years old. Regional leadership
Kyiv leads in terms of the number of registered imported cars with a figure of 13.7%. It is followed by Lviv region with a share of 10.2% and Odesa region with 7.4%.
Popular brands
The leaders among imported cars were Volkswagen, Renault and Audi, which together occupy almost a quarter of the market. Imported:
- Volkswagen – 25,498 cars (11.2% of the total),
- Renault – 17,479 cars (7.7%)
- Audi – 13,173 cars (5.8%).
Other popular brands
Ukrainians also actively choose the following brands:
- Nissan – 12,572 cars (5.5%),
- BMW – 11,109 cars (4.9%),
- Toyota – 9,364 cars (4.1%),
- Ford – 9,253 cars (4.1%)
- Skoda – 8,923 cars (3.9%),
- Hyundai – 7,635 cars (3.3%).
Popular models
The most imported models were:
- Skoda Octavia – 5,047 units,
- Volkswagen Golf – 4,965 cars,
- Volkswagen Passat – 4,147 cars.
Electric cars and types of fuel
Although the import of electric cars has almost doubled compared to last year, their share is only 13.1% of the total number of imported cars. At the same time, gasoline cars remain the leaders, accounting for almost half of all cars imported to Ukraine in the first seven months of 2024. Also, a quarter of imported cars have diesel engines (27.5%).
