Ukraine and the US have signed an agreement on the joint production of drones, including Shahed interceptors
Ukraine concluded an agreement with a number of American companies on the joint production of drones — both reconnaissance and combat, including interceptor drones. About this stated President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“This is a co-production between Ukraine and the USA, it will be several companies. First of all, we are focusing only on drones of various types. But the most important thing is: this year – hundreds of thousands, next year – there will be an increase. The main component is interceptor drones, which have already proven themselves in Ukraine, we have tested the drones of several companies. Now we have signed a serious product, a serious contract. We are very much counting on shooting down the Shaheds in large numbers.” Zelensky emphasized.
He also reported on reaching agreements regarding the access of some Ukrainian manufacturers to these technologies. Among the partners is the American company Swift Beat. As part of the cooperation, it is planned to produce interceptor drones for destroying enemy UAVs and missiles, quadcopters for reconnaissance and adjusting fire, as well as strike drones for hitting targets in the deep rear.
It will be recalled that on July 2, the Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, announced that Ukrainian defense production could start in Denmark in the fall of 2025. Denmark is one of the initiators of providing military aid to Ukraine by investing in its defense-industrial complex — an approach known as the “Danish model.” As part of this mechanism, Ukraine is expected to receive 1.3 billion euros in 2025.
