Ukraine completes the development of the reform of voluntary conscription of young people aged 18-25

Ukraine is finalizing the development of a conscription reform, which involves the involvement of youth aged 18 to 25, currently exempt from mobilization. Colonel Pavlo Palisa, deputy head of the Office of the President, said this. informs Associated Press.
Palisa noted that the country is looking for new approaches to recruiting the army, because the current conscription system, inherited from Soviet times, is holding back development. One proposal is to implement a so-called “honest contract” that includes financial incentives, training guarantees and measures to improve communication between soldiers and their commanders.
“To keep the unit commander and the contract soldier safe, to establish an open and professional relationship between them, and to establish clear boundaries that are understood by both. In my opinion, this is necessary for effective dialogue.” – emphasized the deputy chairman of the OP.
Pavlo Palisa noted that the Office of the President, together with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Defense, is analyzing the reasons for insufficient effectiveness of mobilization measures.
“In fact, we have a huge mobilization resource. In my opinion, at this time, it is more than we need to solve certain tasks on the front lines. The mechanism that we have now does not allow us to be as effective as we could be.”, he emphasized.
