In Kyiv, Poroshenko’s “Army.Mova.Vira” boards are removed: what happened and how politicians react

In Kyiv, boards of the Petro Poroshenko Foundation with the slogans “Army. Language. Faith” and “EU. NATO. Ukraine” are being removed en masse, which caused a wave of indignation among supporters of the ex-president. Rumors are spreading in the network that the current authorities did not like these posters.

On the official page the Poroshenko Foundation called this step “anti-state activity”, condemning the actions of the authorities.

“It is difficult for us to understand that, in particular, the Security Service of Ukraine against “E.U. NATO. of Ukraine”. And it is difficult to interpret this differently than anti-state activity. Yes, we are convinced that the veracity of Poroshenko’s state formula “Army. Language. Faith” today has been proven by life itself. And the EU. NATO formula. Ukraine is the path that will give us those guarantees of independence and democracy, in which, in particular, it will be impossible to put pressure on business and disinterested political whims to law enforcement agencies to remove congratulations on Independence Day, because someone didn’t like them. The overly Russian style doesn’t suit independent Ukraine.” — the Poroshenko Foundation claims.

One of the residents of Kyiv recorded the moment of removing the posters on Malevicha Street, where the workers reported that “these boards have been banned.” The foundation notes that the posters were placed specifically for the Independence Day of Ukraine, but according to them, the authorities put pressure on the companies that printed and posted these boards, even involving law enforcement officers to dismantle them.

People’s deputy from “European Solidarity” Volodymyr Vyatrovych expressed expressed his indignation on Facebook, noting that on the eve of Independence Day, a “scoop” approach is felt in Ukraine.

Head of the “European Solidarity” faction in the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Gerashchenko indicated, that similar bans and censorship have already taken place in the history of Ukraine: 20 years ago during the time of Viktor Yushchenko and 15 years ago, when Viktor Yanukovych came to power, who, according to her, “pathologically hated the opposition.”

“It seemed that after the Revolution of Dignity, such a thing was impossible in Ukraine. But the murlo of the dictatorship is clearly visible behind all these hysterical instructions to tear down the boards with information about the assistance of the Armed Forces and black lists. The slogan “Army. Language. “Faith” is now banned?, the politician wrote.
