Ukraine conducted a review of trade policy at the WTO for the second time

Ukraine has successfully completed its second trade policy review at the World Trade Organization (WTO). About this informs Ministry of Economy.
“We received more than 400 written questions from 20 WTO members, mainly regarding trade and investment regimes. This confirms the significant interest in deepening economic cooperation with Ukraine, despite the war. We especially value feedback on the stability of the economy, the critical role of agricultural exports in global food security, and the development of industries with high added value.” – noted Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka.
According to him, the successful conduct of the survey will contribute to the strengthening of Ukraine’s trade relations with international partners. Taras Kachka emphasized an important achievement of economic diplomacy at the WTO meeting – for the first time, a joint statement of 45 member states condemning the destructive impact of Russian aggression on the world trade system was included in the protocol. This document is officially distributed within the framework of the WTO.
The Ministry of Economy explained that trade policy reviews are one of the key areas of activity of the WTO. They are designed to ensure transparency and predictability of trade regimes of member countries, as well as to promote compliance with the organization’s rules and principles.
