Ukraine handed over to Russia a list for the exchange of prisoners in the format “1000 for 1000”

The Ukrainian side handed Russia a list for the exchange of prisoners in the format “1000 for 1000”. About this reported Andriy Yusov, deputy head of the Coordination Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Ukraine handed over the list for exchange”, – he noted.

At the same time, the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, also confirmed this information:

“Regarding the exchange of 1,000 for 1,000, Ukraine has done its part of the preparatory work, Russia should speed up this.”

The Kremlin previously announced that they were preparing for an exchange with Ukraine in the specified format and had already handed over the corresponding list of names.

We will remind that on May 16, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov, who heads the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Istanbul, announced that the parties agreed to exchange in the “1000 for 1000” format. Deputy head of the Ministry of Defense’s GUR, Vadym Skibitskyi, said that the work on the formation of the lists began on May 16.

The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, later noted that the exchange in the format of 1,000 for 1,000 could take place as early as next week — this topic was discussed during the negotiations in Istanbul. On May 19, Rustem Umyerov announced the approval of a step-by-step plan for the implementation of agreements regarding the exchange. The plan takes into account security, humanitarian and logistical aspects.
