Ukraine has agreed with the IMF on another tranche of $500 million

Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund have reached a preliminary agreement at the staff level on the eighth review of the Enhanced Financing Facility (EFF) program, within which a tranche in the amount of $500 million is provided. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

“We will be able to receive the next tranche in the amount of about half a billion dollars after the approval of the review by the Executive Board of Directors of the fund, which is expected within a month. Thus, the amount of payments under the program will exceed 10 billion dollars.” Shmyhal noted.

He emphasized that, according to IMF estimates, despite the challenges associated with the war, the Ukrainian economy is showing resilience, and the government continues to implement the necessary reforms and changes.

“I thank the government and NBU teams for their quality work, and the IMF for their support and reliable partnership. The EFF program helps us maintain economic stability in difficult conditions”Shmyhal emphasized.

The Ministry of Finance clarified that in order to receive the tranche, Ukraine fulfilled all quantitative performance indicators as of the end of March, and also implemented two structural benchmarks: changes related to tax reporting for digital platforms were submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, and a report on the results of the NABU audit was published.
