Some servicemen will have their basic training reduced

Basic general military training (BZVP) for persons with the former category of “limited suitability” will become simpler and shorter. The new rules will come into force on May 1. informs press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The updated BZVP program aims to reduce the burden on servicemen who are fit to serve in rear units, in particular in support units, security units, territorial centers of manning and social support, higher military educational institutions, training centers, institutions, medical, logistical, liaison and security structures.

“We are talking about the former category of “limited fit”, who, according to changes in the legislation, must serve exclusively in the rear – according to the decision of the Military Medical Commission (MMC)”, — the General Staff explained.

Starting from May 1, the fighters of these categories will study according to the updated program, which involves shortening the training period to one month instead of 45 days, reducing the level of physical exertion and forming separate training units, such as companies or platoons.

The changes apply to both newly recruited and those who have already undergone military training at the relevant departments or for certain reasons are re-passing the BZVP.
