Ukraine has joined the EU anti-fraud program

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the agreement on participation in the EU anti-fraud program (EUAF), informs Ministry of Finance.
The agreement was signed on March 20, 2024 by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko and the European Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Khan.
“Joining the EU anti-fraud program will allow Ukraine to gain access to advanced knowledge and professional training in the field of protecting the financial interests of both Ukraine and the EU. It will also strengthen the institutional capacity of Ukraine in building a system to combat fraud according to European standards.”, — said Yuriy Draganchuk, Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine for European Integration, during his speech in the Parliament.
He also emphasized that after the signing of the law by the president, Ukraine will become the first country that is not a member of the EU, but participates in this program.
The EUAF program provides funding for participants in several key areas:
- implementation of IT tools to strengthen international cooperation with the European Commission;
- support and assistance in financial investigations;
- technical and operational support of bodies engaged in the fight against fraud and illegal activities;
- IT potential development and data exchange;
- organization of specialized training, seminars and research to improve cooperation between services protecting the financial interests of the EU.
