The new Minister of Culture advocated unimpeded trips of artists abroad

Ukrainian artists should be able to freely travel abroad to promote the country’s cultural heritage on the international stage. This was stated by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi during a meeting with journalists at the forum of the cultural platform “Ukraine is open to the world”.
“The task of the ministry is to create conditions for every artist to be able to travel calmly, unhindered, on the basis of transparent rules”, – noted Tochytskyi.
According to him, Western partners are already ready to provide financial support for the organization of such trips. He emphasized the importance of the right strategy, which would include a clear understanding of the goals of each cultural mission and the methods of achieving them.
“We need to learn how to correctly form a strategy, what we want from this or that trip, how it can be achieved, and how to convince our Western colleagues that the funding should be for this purpose”, – said the minister.
The “Ukraine Open to the World” forum, held on September 13 in Kyiv, aimed to discuss ways to promote Ukrainian culture abroad, create a positive image of the country, and establish cooperation with international partners. The participants of the forum exchanged their experience in the popularization of culture, analyzed successful examples of Ukrainian cultural projects, and looked for new ways of expanding support for Ukraine on the international stage in wartime conditions.
