Ukraine has launched its own ballistic missile “Sapsan” into mass production

Ukraine began serial production of the short-range ballistic missile “Sapsan”, which was used for the first time in combat last month. This was stated by the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak. informs The Times.

During its first use, the Sapsan missile hit a Russian military target at a distance of approximately 300 km.

In response to the question whether “Sapsan” is capable of reaching Moscow, Yermak answered:

“Things are going very well. I think we will be able to surprise our enemies more than once.”

He also added that he was leaving the “bravado” to the Russians in response to the journalist’s assumption about Ukraine’s ability to attack any point in Russia — from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad — after the success of the SBU special operation “Web”.

“We certainly know how to surprise the world. It’s not a bad habit. It’s better for you to see something than for me to talk about it. That’s it.” – explained the head of OP.

The Falcon missile, which has a charge of 480 kg of explosives, has a payload capacity that is more than twice that of the US tactical Atacms system, and is capable of speeds that exceed five times the speed of sound.

The exact range of the new Ukrainian ballistic missile remains classified, but it is believed to have a range of up to 500 km. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported on the successful tests of the “Sapsan” missile and noted that preparations for its mass production are underway.
