Ukraine is accused of “supporting terrorism”: three African countries appealed to the UN

Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso appealed to the UN Security Council with a demand to take measures against Ukraine, accusing Kyiv of “supporting terrorism in Africa”. About this informs “Channel 5” with reference to the joint letter of the three countries.
The document states that the foreign ministers of these African states strongly condemn “the support and glorification of terrorism by the leadership of Ukraine” and call on the UN Security Council to take appropriate measures regarding “Kyiv’s deliberate choice to support terrorist groups in Africa, especially in the Sahel region.”
Earlier, Mali and Niger, where pro-Russian military juntas recently came to power, announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Ukraine. Mali accused Kyiv of supporting the Tuareg rebels, who recently defeated a column of Malian military and Russian mercenaries from the “Wagner” PMK.
The incident took place at the end of July, when Tuareg rebels attacked a detachment of “Wagners” near the Algerian border, which led to significant losses among the mercenaries and the Malian military.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine, said that the rebels received the necessary information to carry out the operation, thereby actually confirming Kyiv’s involvement in this attack.
