Ukraine restores over 50% of generating capacity damaged by Russian attacks

In Ukraine, it was possible to restore more than half of the generating capacities that suffered as a result of Russian attacks. About this reported Mykola Kolisnyk, Deputy Minister of Energy.
According to him, the restoration work continues daily and is carried out according to the approved schedules.
“As a result of the Russian attacks, thermal and hydro generation suffered the greatest losses. More than 50% of the damaged generation has already been restored thanks to the work of power engineers and coordination from the government, as well as the help of our international partners.”, – said Kolisnyk.
He emphasized that at the moment the energy system is working stably and balanced. According to him, the risks of using blackout schedules can arise only in case of new Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure.
Kolisnyk also reported on the positive dynamics with the injection of gas into underground storage facilities:
“The pace of gas injection into underground storages is on schedule and is one and a half times higher than last year. We are confident that we will be able to form the necessary reserves before the start of the heating season.”
The deputy minister noted that Ukraine will have sufficient reserves of coal and nuclear fuel for the stable passage of the 2025-2026 heating season.
We will remind you that during June 2025, 1.35 billion cubic meters of natural gas were pumped into underground storage facilities – 1.8 times more than in the same period last year (0.74 billion cubic meters), and 23% more than in May 2025 (1.1 billion cubic meters).
