Ukraine strikes with US weapons against Russia do not involve ATACMS missiles: White House
The permission of the United States to strike Ukraine with American weapons against military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation will not extend to ATACMS long-range ballistic missiles.

“This does not apply to ATACMS for long-range strikes, because that is done to enable Ukraine to defend itself, and that is what has motivated the President (Biden, – Ed.) throughout this war to give Ukraine the ability to defend itself“, – he said.
According to Michael Carpenter, a representative of the US National Security Council, Ukraine received permission to use American weapons to fire back at Russian military facilities not only near the Kharkiv region, but also on the territory of the Sumy Oblast. Previously, Russian forces could relatively safely fire at Ukraine from there, but now Ukrainian forces have the ability to return fire using American ammunition and weapons.
It is noted that the day before it became known that Washington secretly allowed Kyiv to strike targets in Russia. However, as noted in publications by Politico and CNN, the permit applied to territories “exceptionally on the border with the Kharkiv region” in order to protect Kharkiv, which is under attack by the Russian Federation.
