Thirty months after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian Federation has lost its leadership in the field of military drones and electronic warfare technologies, especially at the tactical level. Instead, Ukraine took a leading position in these industries, informs Forbes.
As the publication notes, both Russian and Ukrainian industries are actively working on the introduction of new technologies that can provide an advantage on the battlefield. However, it was Ukraine that was able to make a faster breakthrough in the development of drones and EW systems, which allowed it to gain a significant advantage.
Analysts emphasize that Ukraine’s recent successes in the Kursk region vividly demonstrate this technical advantage. Ukrainian forces use electronic warfare systems to neutralize Russian drones, after which they deploy their own drones to detect and destroy enemy targets. This tactic allows Ukrainians to successfully control territories and win stable victories, leaving Russian forces without an effective response.
Currently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is actively working on the integration of ground and air robotic and unmanned systems into a single control center, which will allow for efficient coordination of the actions of all drones on the battlefield in real time.
