Ukraine will receive an additional €9 billion in aid from the EU by the end of 2025

Ukraine will receive another 9 billion euros in wartime support from the European Union. Funds should arrive by the end of 2025, reported European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

“European support for Ukraine is not only our obligation, it is a strategic investment in the security and reliability of the functioning of Europe as a continent. We are the most stable supporter of Ukraine”, – noted Kos.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, the European Union has provided Ukraine with support in the amount of 144 billion euros. It is about humanitarian, economic and military aid, as well as aid to Ukrainians who were forced to leave for EU countries because of the war. Kos separately mentioned the Ukraine Facility program, characterizing it as a basis for the process of restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine.

According to her, this support will continue this year as well:

“20 billion have already been provided. And we are ready to provide another 9 billion this year as important reforms are implemented.”

Ukraine Facility is an EU financial mechanism created to support Ukraine during the war and in the process of post-war reconstruction. The program provides for the allocation of 50 billion euros for the period 2024-2027. The funds will be directed to macro-financial stability, reconstruction, implementation of reforms and modernization of the state. Financing will be provided in the form of grants and loans, and control over their use will be carried out through a special system of reporting and monitoring the progress of reforms.
