Ukrainian Bank Provides First Loan Under Defense Industry Support Program

The Ukrainian bank issued the first concessional loan within the framework of the program to support manufacturers of the defense-industrial complex (OPK). About this reported Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
The first borrower was a company engaged in the development of electronic warfare (EW) and reconnaissance (ER) equipment. She received 100 million hryvnias per year at 5% per annum, the rest of the interest rate will be covered by the state.
“It is important for us that enterprises have the resources to develop production capabilities, to update equipment and improve products”, – emphasized the minister.
He also noted that in 2024, the preferential lending program has a budget of 500 million hryvnias. These funds will contribute to the development of defense enterprises and speed up the supply of weapons to the Defense Forces.
We will remind you that in November, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution that opened access to the cheap loans program for manufacturers of weapons and military equipment. They can receive up to 100 million hryvnias for working capital for a period of up to three years, or up to 500 million hryvnias for investment projects for a period of up to five years.
The main condition is the identification of the enterprise by the Ministry of Strategy and Industry as critically important for the functioning of the economy during a special period in the field of defense industry.
