Ukrainian business called on the government to change the air alert system

The European Business Association (EBA) has appealed to the Minister of Economy and the Minister of the Interior to implement a localized air alert system that would cover only areas with a real risk, rather than the entire region. About this informs EBA press office.
The association emphasizes that business stoppages due to air alarms create serious problems for business in Ukraine. Currently, the alert system covers entire areas, forcing companies to stop operations even in areas where there is no immediate threat.
“Such a generalized approach often leads to unjustified work stoppages even if there is no immediate threat in the area of the company’s location”, – the EBA notes.
According to companies, downtime due to alarms can reach 50% of working hours, which disrupts production plans, increases costs, complicates exports and reduces the stability of supplies. The EBA believes that the introduction of a risk-oriented notification system will limit alarms to only real threats, ensuring the continuity of business processes. This will have a positive effect on compliance with production schedules and the financial stability of companies.
