France will provide Ukrainian rescuers with Colossus firefighting robots

As part of the cooperation between the French government and the Shark Robotics company, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine will receive modern equipment that will ensure the effective elimination of the consequences of emergency situations in areas with a high level of risk. It is about modern Colossus robotic fire complexes, informs DSNS press office.

The head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Andriy Danyk, held a working meeting with representatives of the French company Shark Robotics, the Action Europe organization, and the French Embassy in Ukraine. The main topic was the strengthening of the Ukrainian robotics sector and the implementation of a large-scale project with the transfer of Colossus robotic complexes. The first 40 cars should arrive soon.

The meeting was attended by the founder, chairman of the board and general director of Shark Robotics Cyril Kabbara, representative of Action Europe Gauthier Mangenot, international technical expert on civil protection of the Embassy of France Jean-Yves Siffouant and others.

Thanks to the partnership between the French government, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and Shark Robotics, Ukrainian rescue units will receive modern equipment that will allow them to effectively respond to emergency situations in high-risk conditions. Colossus are high-tech robots equipped with fire extinguishing, video surveillance and remote control systems. They can work in areas where there is a threat to human life: during shelling, explosions, fires or man-made disasters.

As part of preparations for the implementation of the systems, eight Ukrainian rescuers were trained in France in the spring. They got acquainted with the technical characteristics and operation of the Colossus complexes. The transfer of equipment is carried out within the framework of the Grant Agreement between the governments of France and Ukraine, aimed at restoring critical infrastructure and supporting key sectors of the economy.

Andrii Danyk emphasized that Ukraine is already among the leaders in Europe in terms of the level of use of unmanned robotic systems. He noted that the experience that the Ukrainian side is ready to share with French partners will be extremely valuable for them.

The French delegation expressed deep respect for the professionalism of Ukrainian rescuers, expressed pride in the opportunity to help and confirmed their readiness to continue supporting Ukraine in the fight for safety and preservation of people’s lives.
