Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian airfield “Mozdok” (video)

On Saturday, June 8, Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian military airfield Mozdok, located in occupied North Ossetia. This airfield is of strategic importance to the Russian Air Force as it serves as a base for Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, capable of carrying Kh-22 supersonic anti-ship missiles, and MiG-31K fighter jets, armed with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

In general, the drones traveled a considerable distance – up to 1,000 kilometers – to reach their target.

The head of the republic, Serhiy Menyaylo Telegram confirmed the fact of the attack, but said that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down three Ukrainian drones. However, he later clarified that as a result of the attack, “minor destruction and fires” were recorded, but there were no casualties. In connection with this, all mass events were canceled in the Mozdok district, and the special services were put on high alert.

Menyayl’s statement contradicts the message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which claimed the destruction of only one Ukrainian drone over occupied North Ossetia.
