After a conversation with the President of Mexico, Trump suspended tariffs

US President Donald Trump has decided to suspend the planned introduction of tariffs on Mexican goods. About this reported Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

She noted that during the constructive conversation, the heads of state reached a number of agreements.  In particular, Mexico will immediately strengthen its northern border by sending 10,000 National Guard soldiers to fight illegal drug trafficking, including fentanyl, to the United States. In response, the United States is stepping up measures to prevent arms smuggling into Mexico.

In addition, the teams of both countries will begin cooperation in the areas of security and trade. The introduction of tariffs has been postponed for a month.

“We have agreed to immediately suspend the planned tariffs for a period of one month, during which we will negotiate under the leadership of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, as well as senior officials from Mexico. I look forward to participating in these negotiations with President Sheinbaum as we try to reach an agreement between our two countries.” – emphasized Donald Trump.
